Rhythm In Place is an unincorporated nonprofit association determined to provide students with access to a music education during quarantine. All classes are completely free to accommodate those facing economic challenges, and occur exclusively online.

All our music tutors are highly skilled high-school and college musicians, many of whom are just as bored at home as you are!

Rhythm In Place is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, although reaches students world-wide. Many of our music tutors are also fluent in multiple languages!

MUSIC TOGETHER, APART

We hope to inspire young musicians to stay engaged with their passion, and continue to develop their talents. Shelter-in-place has been particularly hard on younger students, and many have yet to find something to fill their time. We realized that there were many online resources for students looking for academic help, but none for music!

Whether your student has never taken classes before, or hasn't picked up their instrument in months, we are ready to welcome them to our program!

Why "rhythm in place"?

"Rhythm In Place" represents the combination of our love of music, and the current world situation, or "shelter-in-place."

Recognized by Congresswoman

Anna Eshoo of California

"Rhythm In Place is a unique and laudable idea. [Your music tutors] are giving generously of [their] talents to others in need of music tutoring, and I can't thank you enough. Your work is a great source of inspiration to me. Bravo!"

Rhythm In Place makes virtuosos virtually

As the humdrum months of quarantine have drawn on, many have found themselves trying a bit of everything to stay busy. Music has taken a place of solace for many, but with shelter-in-place orders, not everyone has the luxury of playing instruments. Seeing this need emerge, senior Ella F.E. founded Rhythm In Place, an organization that offers K-12 students free, online music education. The Los Altos-based organization started in June, and has since expanded to students and tutors worldwide, offering classes on. . . Read More

We hope to receive enough donations to provide rental instruments for low income students in our program. Our priority is to make sure each student has an instrument that needs an instrument. We hope to then exceed that amount and donate all funds to food banks serving the local schools, through Feeding America.
